View Article  Blogzerk Bugs Being Fixed Tomorrow

BugBlogware (which powers Blogzerk) will be fixing some of the high-priority bugs tomorrow. This update will not require any outages for the blogs or the Publisher's Control Panel. The following will be implemented:

  • Improved trackback spam detection logic
  • Keywords will use commas and not spaces as the separator (this will not be included in this update as originally noted)
  • Category component changed from Topics to Categories in the customizable code
  • Line spacing will be proportional to text size in the Rich Text Editor
  • The checkbox in Advanced Settings labeled "Display excerpts in summary view" will be changed to "Display excerpts in Category indexes"
  • Blog owners will be able to view past 7 days of statistics on any day of the month

If you have any bugs that you'd like fixed or want to see if a bug is on the fix list, please post the details to the Bugs board in the Blogzerk Forums.

View Article  Blogzerk Going Multilingual

On December 13, 2005 Blogware (and thus, Blogzerk) will be updated to include multilingual functionality. Blog owners will be able to specify the language for their blog as well as for the Publisher's Control Panel. Initially, the following languages and locales will be available:

Additional languages and locales will be added throughout 2006.

The spell checker will be also be updated. A language field will now appear in the spell checker dialog box allowing blog posters to select the language that should be used when spelling is checked. The default dictionary is based on the user's locale. Dictionaries are available in English (U.S.), English (U.K), English (Canadian), Spanish, Danish, German, French, Italian, Dutch, Norwegian and Portuguese.

These are just some of the features that will be implemented for this update. We will have the full, detailed information posted next week.

View Article  Reasons to Use Blogzerk for Your Blog Hosting Service

We realize that when you are choosing a blog service provider, the choices are many and trying to compare features can be daunting. Never fear, Blogzerk is here! Blogzerk is powered by Blogware and Blogware is offered by other providers so we also want you to know how we are different from them. Here is what sets us apart from the competition:

Features, features, features.
You want ‘em, we’ve got ‘em. We have a full list on the Blogzerk site but here some that you are probably interested in:

  • Photo Albums – Blogzerk makes it easy to upload your photos either individually or in a zip file to a photo album. Create as many albums as you need and organize them with categories. We’ve made it even easier by creating a photo uploader for Windows users that lets you upload files to your albums from your PC. A Mac version is in the works now.
  • Look and Feel – You can quickly and easily change from one, to two, to three column layout at the click of a button. In addition to the standard Blogware templates, we also offer Blogzerk templates with more coming soon.
  • Restricted Categories – These are a hit with our business bloggers who use them to create categories that only their employees/vendors/etc. can access to read and/or post in.
  • Threaded and Nested Comments – “Big deal” you may say. “Big deal!” we say. Threaded and nested comments make it easy for your and your commenters to keep track of comment threads and replies.

Options, options, options.
From the smallest personal blog to the big, bad podcasting blogs, we have a plan for your needs at a price you can afford.

Extras, extras, extras.
As you’ve seen, we offer you extras like the photo uploader and templates. We are working on more extras like a Flash slideshow component and an RSS calendar and component. You get all the benefits of Blogware and the icing that is Blogzerk for a lower price than many Blogware providers.

Get started!
So, what are you waiting for? Try out Blogzerk for free for 30 days.
