View Article  Blogs! Huh! What Are They Good for?

Absolutely everything! OK, maybe that is a little bit much. Here are some of the ways Blogzerk is being used. The (docs) links are links to the online documentation for the preceeding feature or concept and open in a new window.

Sharing Photos
Blogzerk’s photo features (docs) make it easy to create online photo albums, upload your photos, and automatically resize them and create thumbnails. Just use the Publisher’s Control panel to name your photo album. Next, zip up your photos to add to the album and use the Control Panel to upload the zip file. Then, let Blogzerk work its magic and you’ll have a nice photo album in just minutes.

View our sample album in either standard or slideshow format (links open in a new window).

Sharing Information
Blogs are a great way to share information with customers, family, friends, and the rest of the world. Businesses use Blogzerk to either replace or supplement email newsletters and to update their customers (and potential customers) on what they are doing. People use Blogzerk to share information with their friends and family.

With Blogzerk’s restricted categories (docs), you can make sure the information you choose to share is only accessible by users you give access to instead of the entire world. Businesses use this method to create a mini-blog within their main blog that only their employees can access.

Creating Conversations
By sharing information, you can also create conversations by allowing comments (docs) and trackbacks (docs) on your blog. Comments allow visitors to comment on an article you post to your blog. Trackbacks allow other bloggers to write about articles on your blog and let you and your visitors know about it.

Podcasting
Blogzerk supports article attachments (docs) which lets you attach MP3s to your blog’s articles for podcasting. You can use Blogzerk’s category system (docs) to create categories for your podcasts to organize them or separate them from your blog’s main article content.

View Article  Blogzerk at Orlando Advertising Federation Lunch

David and I (Chris) attended the OAF luncheon today to listen to blog consultant Josh Hallett speak about blogs. I’ve been talking (virtually) with Josh for the last few days about Blogzerk. He was kind enough to mention Blogzerk to the group as an example of blog hosting services.

The presentation was excellent and had a blogload of great information packed in an hour—actually more with questions. Thanks, Josh for the mention! You can check out the example post he did during the presentation and later on listen to the podcast.

View Article  Blogzerk Launched

We at Red Rocket and Adaptive Hosting Solutions are happy to announce that Blogzerk is now officially launched! Blogzerk is the brand name we are now using for our Blogware-powered blog hosting service. We are still using the same Blogware back-end system so those of you currently using our blog hosting service won’t need to make any changes.

Our goal with Blogzerk is to give you more than the standard Blogware experience—it is already great but we want to make it even better. The beginning of this can be seen in the Customize Your Blog section of the Blogzerk site and the new templates so you can customize the look and feel of your blog. To give you more options for pricing, we have added three new plans which will help those blogs that use large amounts of storage or data transfer.

We hope you enjoy the new service. If you have any questions or comments, please contact us.
