On December 13, 2005 Blogware (and thus, Blogzerk) will be updated to include multilingual functionality. Blog owners will be able to specify the language for their blog as well as for the Publisher's Control Panel. Initially, the following languages and locales will be available:
Additional languages and locales will be added throughout 2006. The spell checker will be also be updated. A language field will now appear in the spell checker dialog box allowing blog posters to select the language that should be used when spelling is checked. The default dictionary is based on the user's locale. Dictionaries are available in English (U.S.), English (U.K), English (Canadian), Spanish, Danish, German, French, Italian, Dutch, Norwegian and Portuguese. These are just some of the features that will be implemented for this update. We will have the full, detailed information posted next week. Monday, November 21

We've seen from a Fortune City blog user and now from another source that Fortune City is discontinuing their free blogging service. Fortune City is using Blogware for their blogs which also what Blogzerk uses. If you are using a Fortune City blog and want to continue using Blogware, you can transfer your blog to Blogzerk. Of course, you will have to pay for it but out pricing and features make it worth it. If you want to transfer your Fortune City blog to Blogzerk, please submit a support request at the Adaptive Hosting Solutions web site and we'll contact you with your options. Tuesday, November 8

Blogware (the backend that powers Blogzerk) has scheduled a maintenance window on 11/12/2005 to conduct a database upgrade on the Blogware Environment. The blogs and the management interfaces will be offline during the maintenance. Date: 11/12/2005 Impact: The Publishers' Control and blogs will not be accessible. Each interface will be made live as soon as More Information: The backend database server software that powers Blogware will be upgraded to the latest version. This upgrade is necessary to fix the few remaining performance issues and allow for future optimizations. Unfortunately, to do this requires shutting down all database services which results in the longer than usual downtime. Monday, November 7

I’ve just posted an article in the Blogzerk forums with information and a download link for the beta of the Blogzerk Photo Uploader for Windows. This allows Windows users to use the application to select (multiple) images from your hard drive and upload them to an existing or new photo album. Give it a try and reply in the forum post to let us know how it works (or doesn’t since it is a beta). For Mac users, we hope to have an iPhoto plugin which will allow you to upload photos and albums from iPhoto to your Blogzerk blog in the next few weeks. |
